The Man Who Knew Too Much
Hi Everyone! I am super excited to post about this movie! I have been wanting to post about it for ages. The Man Who Knew Too Much with Doris Day and James (Jimmy) Stewart, directed by the all time great Alfred Hitchcock, is one of my all time favourite movies!
The Man Who Knew too much is about a husband and wife going on holiday with their ten year old son, only to get involved in an international assassination plot. They are just innocent people going on a holiday, but they never foresaw what was about to happen to them!
Here are some of the reasons that this movie is one of my favourites:
1. It is a psychological thriller.
What I mean by a psychological thriller is that this movie doesn't thrill you by visual effects, but it scares you psychologically. Alfred Hitchcock the director of this movie, is the master of the psychological thriller. This movie messes with your mind in ways you definitely wouldn't expect it to.
2. The plot.
The plot of this movie is so well written. This movie was actually a remake of the original which was made in 1934 also directed by Alfred Hitchcock. However the second one is more well known. The movie starts out like a nice family movie, and then slowly gets more and more dramatic as it goes on.
3. The music.
When people think of old songs, they often think of "Que Sera, Sera" sung by Doris Day. What a lot of people don't know is that the song originally comes from this movie. The song was so successful that it won an Oscar for best original song. There is also a great piece of music called "Storm Clouds" that is played in the Royal Albert hall in the climax of the movie. But I can never fully focus on the music in that part of the movie, and if you have seen it, you will know exactly why.
4. The climax.
The climax of this movie is set in the Royal Albert Hall in London. I can't tell you much more about it because that would spoil the movie. But it is one of my all time favourite scenes in any movie.
This movie is absolutely amazing and I would recommend it for anyone ages 13 and up. There is a little bit of violence and I think you also need to be old enough to appreciate the plot of the movie properly. I give this movie a 10/10.
